TERMS & CONDITIONS

Coaching terms & conditions.

These terms set out how Ornata Coaching provides its online cycling coaching services. Please read them before signing up.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. About us and these terms

Ornata Coaching is the trading name of Callum Laborde, a sole trader providing online cycling coaching. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Callum Laborde trading as Ornata Coaching, and “you” means the person receiving coaching. You can contact us at callumlaborde@gmail.com.

These terms apply when you sign up to any Ornata Coaching plan. By signing up, you agree to these terms, together with our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Payment & Direct Debit Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal information.

2. The coaching service

We provide online cycling coaching. Depending on the plan you choose, this may include personalised training plans, coach calls and messages, training feedback, performance analysis, race preparation, and guidance on areas such as fuelling, tactics, equipment, strength and conditioning and heat training. The features included in each plan are described on our website at the time you sign up.

Coaching is delivered remotely — for example, through calls, messages, email and online training platforms such as TrainingPeaks.

3. Your responsibilities

To help us coach you effectively and safely, you agree to:

  • give us accurate and up-to-date information about your health, fitness, training history, goals and availability, and tell us promptly about any changes, injuries or illness;
  • use your own judgement when following any training plan or advice, and stop or adapt a session if you feel unwell, are injured or are in any doubt;
  • make sure your bike and equipment are safe, roadworthy and properly maintained;
  • ride legally and responsibly, follow the Highway Code and event rules, and take care in traffic, weather and road conditions; and
  • keep your payments up to date.

4. Health and safety

Cycling, racing, strength training and heat training involve inherent risks, including the risk of accidents, injury and illness.

You are responsible for making sure you are medically fit to take part in training and racing. If you have, or think you may have, any medical condition, injury or other health concern — or if you are pregnant, returning from illness or injury, or new to structured exercise — you should seek appropriate medical advice before starting or changing your training, and follow that advice.

Our coaching, including any guidance on nutrition, fuelling, strength and conditioning or heat training, is general sports coaching. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a doctor, physiotherapist, dietitian or other qualified health professional. If you experience pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, breathing difficulties or any other worrying symptoms, stop exercising and seek medical help.

Heat training places additional stress on the body. Only take part in heat training if you are well, keep properly hydrated, follow the guidance provided, and stop immediately if you feel unwell.

5. Coaching communication

Plans include coach calls and messages as described on our website. We aim to respond to messages within a reasonable time, but we are not available around the clock, and response times may be longer during evenings, weekends, race events or holidays. Our coaching communication is not an emergency service — in an emergency, contact the emergency services.

6. Training plans and advice

We will provide our coaching with reasonable care and skill, and tailor it to the information you give us. Performance depends on many factors outside our control, including your health, recovery, consistency and commitment, so we cannot guarantee any particular result, such as race outcomes, power gains or weight changes.

7. When coaching may need to be adjusted

We may need to adjust your training plan or how coaching is delivered — for example, if you are injured, ill or advised by a health professional to change your training; if your goals, schedule or circumstances change; if you are not following the plan in a way that is safe or effective; or if we are temporarily unable to provide coaching due to illness, travel, racing commitments or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where possible, we will discuss any significant changes with you in advance.

If we are unable to provide the coaching you have paid for for an extended period, we will discuss this with you and, where appropriate, offer an alternative arrangement or a refund for coaching that will not be provided.

8. Payment

Payments are collected through GoCardless. Monthly plans are paid by recurring monthly Direct Debit, which you authorise when you sign up. Annual plans are paid as a single payment in advance. Full details, including what happens if a payment fails, are in our Payment & Direct Debit Policy.

9. Cancellation and refunds

  • You have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of signing up online, as explained in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
  • After that, 30 days’ notice by email is required to cancel an ongoing coaching subscription. Payments that fall due during the notice period will still be collected.
  • We do not give discretionary refunds once a payment has been taken. This does not affect your statutory rights.

We may end your coaching if payments are not made after we have contacted you, or if you seriously breach these terms. We may also end the coaching for other reasons by giving you reasonable notice, and we will refund any payment you have made for coaching that will not be provided.

10. Intellectual property

Training plans, sessions, documents, videos and other materials we provide remain the intellectual property of Ornata Coaching. They are provided for your own personal use while you are coached by us. You may keep copies of the plans and materials provided to you, but you must not sell, share, publish or reproduce them for others, or use them for commercial purposes, without our written permission.

11. Our liability to you

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious it would happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when the contract was made.

We are not responsible for:

  • loss or damage that was not foreseeable;
  • loss or damage caused by your failure to follow these terms, including giving us inaccurate or incomplete information about your health or fitness, or not seeking medical advice where appropriate;
  • loss or damage caused by events outside our reasonable control; or
  • any business losses, as our coaching is provided for personal use.

Subject to the paragraph below, our total liability to you in connection with the coaching is limited to the total fees you have paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.

12. Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms affects or excludes your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. For information about your consumer rights, you can contact Citizens Advice.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time — for example, to reflect changes in the law or in how we provide coaching. If we make a significant change that affects your ongoing subscription, we will tell you in advance. If you do not agree to the change, you may cancel your subscription.

14. Other important terms

  • If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest will continue to apply.
  • If we do not enforce a right under these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • If you have a complaint, please email callumlaborde@gmail.com first and we will try to resolve it.
  • If you live in the UK, you can bring legal proceedings in respect of these terms in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
